Ian Furlong, Chair of Trustees

Welcome

Thank you for your interest in becoming the Chief Executive Officer of The Consortium Academy Trust (TCAT). This is a unique opportunity to lead an ambitious multi-academy trust with nearly 9,000 learners in our primary and secondary academies.

The Trust was formed in 2017 building on relationships stretching back over twenty-five years and has continued to grow from that date. We have genuine credibility with key stakeholders and are a sponsoring Trust – in fact the Trust has been sponsoring academies since its inception. We believe that we have some very talented executive and senior leaders capable of delivering sustained educational improvement.

We are ambitious to grow further. This strategic growth will be in academies that are geographically local, and where there are clear mutual benefits from working together.

We believe in putting our children and young people first and we operate a supportive, yet challenging environment to allow learners and our people to compete with the belief that they have every chance of success. We encourage a culture where we can confidently take appropriate risk in the pursuit of excellence.

We aspire to be a Trust with a leading community role, whose academies are the preferred choice for students, parents, and staff.

We are seeking to appoint a Chief Executive Officer who is an inspirational leader and who will bring the experience, skills, and credibility to deliver the vision and strategy of the Board. The successful candidate will have a demonstrable track record in effective change management and experience of managing in complex business-related environments. We expect them to quickly understand the Trust, build relationships, and influence others.

The candidate will be a dynamic, success driven leader with financial and people management knowledge, equitable to managing a large organisation in the education sector.

There is always work to do but we are in a strong place with a sound financial position, great people, and the opportunity to deliver our ambitious strategy. This is a fantastic challenge for the right person.

We would be delighted to hear from you, if you have the experience, skills, passion, and determination to shape and deliver our strategy.
